Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S #2 Review

Steve Trevor vs the Secret Society!

In this second installment of A.R.G.U.S, we get the conclusion of the White House Battle and gets some more reveals about what A.R.G.U.S hides.

The art continues to disappoint, There's a cartoony feel to it, but the real problem is how some characters are drawn (especially Shadow Thief looks like she gained a few pounds) while the backgrounds remind me of Jae Lee.

The plot progresses well though some odd pacing and missing panels don't help.

SPOILERS FOLLOW...........................

Trevor takes on Deathstroke and his party (Shadow Thief, Copperhead, Blockbuster) as he rescues the President.

He takes them out by blowing up one of his dead agents and escapes with the President back to the ruins that are A.R.G.U.S.

At A.R.G.U.S., Dr Light disappears from the scene while at Happy Harbour, Killer Frost is able to sustain herself for a little while by killing a very stupid villain called The Hotness! (Ugh.)

Thank god she's dead already.

Steve reaches A.R.G.U.S and orders a lockdown before requesting the President for the A.R.G.U.S key, which can open any of the high security rooms of A.R.G.U.S, one of which is the Red Room, where we see Silas Stone and Morrow with Victor's body.

Using the key, Steve opens the Green Room, a panic room made of Tesseract technology (wait, wasn't the Tesseract a Marvel Movie thing?) where the President is kept with Etta Candy (still, a weird name) guarding him. There is a mysterious person already within the Room.

Steve meanwhile goes to the Wonder room, where he has kept all the artifacts and objects he got during his time with Wonder Woman ( it seems a Wonder Woman Zero Year may be very interesting), which include a large mirror called the Delphi Mirror.

When Steve removes the covering, he is greeted by three weird female monsters called the Moirai. Apparently he made a deal with them once, and now wants to make another one to find Diana.

SPOILERS END.............................

If you can get past the cartoony and haphazard art (alongwith some weird panel progressions), this is turning out to be an interesting story, especially seeing that Steve is willing to go to all lengths to get Diana back.

If you love Steve, get this. His conflicted nature shines here. But the rest is meh.

So, I give it 6.0 out of 10.

+Steve is given some great spotlight
+There are interesting aspects to the plot

-The art fails here
-Pacing is all over the place
