Green Lantern Corps #24 Review

John Stewart takes the fight to Relic in Oa's last moments.

I am loving John Stewart's character run so far - he has gone from being the 'guilt-ridden war hero' to an actual Green Lantern who can lead from the front lines since the end of the First Lantern storyline.

I've loved what Tomasi did with Guy, but his John fared far worse. So, it's reassuring to see him in all his greatness here.

From the army constructs to taking charge of the situation when Hal goes off his rockers (more on that later), his military calmness and rational thinking is the highlight of this issue.

The characterization of the new recruits continues to give some good moments and make this feel more like a team book than it has been for a long time. The art isn't great but acceptable while the writing gives us a fairly straight forward but exciting plot line.

SPOILERS follow............................

Finally, this is a must read for any Green Lantern and John Stewart fan. While the writing was good (although a little biased), the art was a little awkward.

Overall it was a good read and proceeded the storyline, giving some good character moments.

So, I give it 7.5 out of 10.

+John Stewart gets some much needed character moments
+The book feels like a Corps book again
+Some great character moments from the new recruits

-Hal's dialogue was awkward and did not reflect his maturity or growth under Johns
-The art was awkward, with character bodies looking weird
