Green Lanterns New Guardians #27 Review

I watch from far.....

Exeter, the Keeper (from Green Lantern New Guardians #23) needs a little help sorting his affairs. And who else to go to than Kyle and company?

Justin Jordon this time poses the question - war for war's sake? And while the results are a little too fight-focused, and the reasons too far-fetched, he gets across to make his point.

This has been an eye-opening journey for Kyle as he encounters the best and worst the universe has to offer.

Bressan draws a sparkling Kyle and is competent enough that someone like Exeter looks constant throughout the issue.

SPOILERS FOLLOW...............

Since being deprived of his responsibility to guard the 'anomaly' (it was Relic), Exeter the Keeper (who reminds me of Orion) makes his way home, but finds his course waylaid by his people, the Kalimawans
attacking the the mushroom headed Muscarians.

Knowing the Muscarians to be innocent, he enlists the help of Kyle Rayner, Carol Ferris and the Templar Guardians to stop the one-sided fight. The Guardians learn that the Kalimawans' memories have been tampered with.

This leads them to a ship building base on Exter's home and they find the 'Warmonger' as Kyle calls him. He tampered with the memory of the Kalimawans to create an artificial war.

Exeter and Kyle battle the Warmonger until the Guardians are able to restore the correct memories to the Kalimawan people. Exeter and the Kalimawans throw the Warmonger into a secure prison and Exeter decides to live at home again after years of seclusion.

Justin is able to give Exeter an all-round personality, even though it evokes shades of Orion of New Genesis. His talk with Kyle is especially well-written as they are both now outsiders - Kyle as the only White Lantern and Exeter as the Keeper.

But as Exeter says, you need not be alone.

So, what does this mean for Kyle and Carol?

SPOILERS END..................
Justin continues Kyle's journey to understand his role in the universe, and the results are a little convulated. Though he is able to make a bit-player like Exeter a fully rounded indiviual.

Bressan's pencils are very good and I look forward to more of his cosmic artwork.

So, I give this 7.5 out of 10

+Justin writes a returning character well
+Some great pencils by Bressan

-The stories continue to be convulated
